Kelly and Christian requested a night-time shoot with lots of Christmas lights…Fairhaven seemed to fit the order perfectly, with alleys and nooks all over the place, lit by Christmas lights. A very fun and relaxed shoot overall with sparklers to finish it off! Congrats Kelly and Christian, can’t wait for the wedding!
A short-but-sweet, beautiful Christmas wedding at the Lairmont Manor in Fairhaven (just south of Bellingham). Melanie and Eric were a great couple to work with, very photogenic, and most important, their love and affection towards each other was endless. The Lairmont Manor at night proved to be quite a lighting challenge for myself as the photographer, but with great technology, lighting, and constant shuffling between shutter speeds, apertures, white balances, and flashes, I was able to get some great shots.
Words can barely describe how amazingly perfect this wedding was. The wedding ceremony took place at Sacred Heart Church in La Conner, Washington, and the reception just down the street. There was an abundance of love surrounding Luke and Jessie, and everyone had a great time. All in all, it was a dream wedding, for those involved, and for myself as the photographer. 2300 photos shot over seven hours, and believe me, it was impossibly difficult to narrow it down to the 43 images you are seeing here. One of the most rewarding things about wedding photography is meeting new people…lots of them. While I don’t consider myself to be a social butterfly, I do enjoy meeting people and hearing about their stories and interests. Once in a while, those interests cross with my own, and a connection is made. Liz came across a few of my mountain biking photos while searching for a wedding photographer in Bellingham. She sent me an email and was so excited that her fiance and I had a common interest! Turns out her fiance McKenzie has a passion for mountain biking just like me!
It came as no surprise that the wedding was held at a beautiful outdoor location called Evergreen Gardens in Bellingham. It was an intimate and relaxed wedding, which always makes my job easier in creating great images.
As some of you may know, I am an avid mountain biker. Bellingham and the surrounding areas are thriving with amazing trails. This summer I made it a goal to take more photos, documenting various mountain biking adventures. While I didn’t shoot as many as I hoped for, I did come out with a few favorites for you check out!

I have always been fairly computer/web savvy, but for some reason, I have been seriously dragging my feet when it comes to starting a blog!!! Sure, I’ve been shooting for weddings for years, but I never got around to blogging about my life. It’s kind of like trying to start playing soccer when you’re 25…you just feel like everyone else is so much farther ahead of you in the game since they have been doing it for years. But I say it’s never too late for anything! I am officically starting this blog, and hopefully it will become an old habit before long.
